Details
Family Weekend is for all families of undergraduate students at Johns Hopkins University and will be held Friday, October 14 through Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Once you have registered your family to attend the weekend, please register for the individual events below. Please note, not all events require registration.

Are you ready to tap into your inner Picasso? Finish out Family Weekend together with family paint event. Create the beautiful picture you always wanted with a little guidance and support in a painting class led by professional instructors. Each participant creates their own masterpiece.
Tickets are $35 per person.

President Daniels invites Blue Jay Families and university leadership to hear more about the current state of the undergraduate student experience. We will host a Q&A if time permits.
Seating is limited and is on a first come first serve basis.
No food or beverages are permitted in the auditorium.

Have questions about finding off-campus housing? Our staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide an area map and list of commercial residential properties near campus. No formal presentation will be given. Families will be able to go on a self-guided walking tour at their own pace. Select commercial residential properties will be open between 10am – 4pm on Saturday.
10:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Registration for a formal information session to give families an overview of the off campus housing process and area commercial residences. Following the session, families will be provided an area map and list of commercial residential buildings near campus to visit.
Walking tours are self guided at your own pace. Select commercial residential properties will be open┬ábetween 10am – 4pm on Saturday. Registration is required and is limited to three tickets per family. These Saturday sessions are limited to our second year students and their families.

An informal, pre-show discussion about The Glass Menagerie. Have a cup of tea and talk about Tennessee Williams, the play's literary value, and JHU Theatre's production. We want to set the stage, so you can go into the theatre ready to enjoy.
Discussion led by Dr. Joe Martin, playwright and translator, and JHU Theatre faculty member, and Abraham Stoll, Director of JHU Theatre.

HSO kicks off the 2022-23 season with one of the country's most sought-after violinists, Stefan Jackiw, followed by a performance of Sibelius' expansive 5th Symphony.

6:30PM-Join us for a pre-concert talk given by Dr. Mosley. Imani Danielle Mosley is a musicologist, cultural historian, and digital humanist and technologist focusing on the works of Benjamin Britten as well as music, opera, and modernism in Britain post-1945.
In addition to her work on Britten, Dr. Mosley also specializes in contemporary opera, postwar studies, reception history, sound studies, queer theory, masculinities studies, and race in 21st-century popular music. Dr. Mosley is a JHU alum (Peabody MM '10), currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, was recently published in The New York Times, and is writing HSO's program notes this season.

Meet in front of the Homewood Museum for a monologue and introduction and then there will be a drummer-led walk to the Tubman memorial garden (across from the BMA) where a libation and blessing will take place.
1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
The Imagine Center serves as the home of seven departments: Life Design Lab, Hopkins Office of Undergraduate Research, Global Education Office, University Experiential Learning, Hopkins Connect, Hire Hopkins, and PHutures. Tours will be given on the half hour with the last tour starting at 3:30pm. Stop by to get a glimpse into the wonderful services being offered to our students and alumni from this location.
