Fireside Chat with Ali Behbahani of NEA

Ali Behbahani, MD, is a Partner and Co-Head of Healthcare at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), one of the world's largest and most active venture capital firms, where he leads investments across the biopharmaceutical and medical device sectors. NEA partners with entrepreneurs to build transformative healthcare companies from seed stage through IPO.

Prior to joining NEA in 2007, Dr. Behbahani was a business development consultant at The Medicines Company, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on acute care cardiovascular products. He previously served as a Venture Associate at Morgan Stanley Venture Partners and as a Healthcare Investment Banking Analyst at Lehman Brothers. Earlier in his career, he conducted basic science research in viral fusion inhibition and structural proteomics at the National Institutes of Health and Duke University. Dr. Behbahani concurrently earned his MD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and his MBA from The Wharton School, where he graduated with Honors as a Palmer Scholar. He received his bachelor's degrees in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, and chemistry from Duke University.
