Come climbing outdoors with the Johns Hopkins Experiential Education instructors on some really cool rocks not far away from campus! Most of our trips consist of ‘top rope’ climbing, using ropes to allow everyone to try out different climbs and safely enjoy some spectacular views from the top. No climbing experience is necessary but climbers of all levels are encouraged to come, since we select locations and climbs based on everyone’s comfort and skill levels.

On the day of the trip, we meet early in the morning and get all the necessary gear (which will be provided). Most locations are an hour away which allows us to climb till late afternoon. We always make sure to find a good spot to take a break and enjoy lunch (which always tastes so much better than normal!). We usually get back by 5pm.

Check out this link for information about registration, paperwork, and what to bring on a trip!

Please be considerate of other students and only register for 2 trips per
semester. All of our trips are free because we want to give everyone the opportunity to explore the outdoors with us.

IMPORTANT: Registering for this trip is committing. We understand that things come up so if you can’t make it anymore give at least one week’s notice. If you cancel later or do not show up to a trip it might affect your ability to go on other outdoor trips.
