About Us

Youth Library Tutorial (YLT) is a community service organization in which Johns Hopkins University students provide tutoring to Baltimore elementary through high school students at the Enoch Pratt Public Free Library - Waverly Branch, Enoch Pratt Public Free Library - Southeast Anchor Branch, and MERIT Health Leadership Academy. We offer in-person tutoring on Saturdays and virtual tutoring (via Zoom) on Sundays. Our goal is to assist students on how to reason through problems and think independently. To accomplish this, we adjust teaching methods to cater to individual students while also giving them a space to ask questions and complete their school assignments. Our tutoring spans a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to STEM classwork, SAT prep, ELA, and AP course assistance.
