Sam Broomell

Wind Ensemble Director

Sam has studied conducting with Harlan Parker and Brian Norcross. He has also worked with Jerry Junkin, Kevin Sedatole, Richard Floyd, Jeffrey Grogan, James Smart, Cynthia Johnston Turner, John Lynch, and Andrew Yozviak at conducting workshops across the United States. He is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) Candidate in Wind Conducting at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Sam also received a Master of Music in Wind Conducting from the Peabody Institute. Before coming to Peabody, Sam earned a dual degree, Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and Business Administration, with a concentration in Conducting and Saxophone Performance from Franklin & Marshall College. Trained in music and business, he strives to value both the organizational and artistic needs of every ensemble. Sam is a current Fellow with The Timothy Foundation, which he is honored to take part in. He is also an active member of the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA).
