BFSA Membership

Membership is open to all Johns Hopkins faculty and staff and ends once the member leaves Johns Hopkins or resigns from the organization.

BFSA Membership is open to ALL faculty and ALL staff, ALL affiliates (full or part-time) employed at Johns Hopkins or at Hopkins affiliations, and anyone who identifies with our mission, regardless of religion, age, race or color, marital status, national origin, disability, gender or sexual orientation. All BFSA members are expected to agree and abide by the rules and regulations of the university. Individuals become members in good standing upon completion of the registration form. Members are able to manage their account information by logging into the BFSA site. If you are unable to log in, contact our membership director for assistance.

Some overarching benefits of the BFSA include but are limited to:

  • Connections and Networking offered with employees at all levels, and with leaders and decision makers.
  • Innovation promoted by creating opportunities for diverse and culturally sensitive ideas, initiatives, programs, workshops, and activities to develop, and inform decision making with input from employees knowledgeable about specific demographics or populations.
  • Leadership Development and Career Promotion Opportunities provided for employees at all levels.
  • Mentoring Opportunities given from the top-down and bottom-up (e.g. younger employees mentoring senior leaders on social media), or seasoned employees mentoring newer employees about institutional knowledge, or resources related to roles, functions, and positions.
  • Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and Recruitment efforts expanded to include a diverse employee base through the connections and networks of ERG members.
  • Professional and Personal Development Opportunities surface through involvement with and visibility within ERGs.

BFSA Lifetime Membership Donation

We welcome you to join the BFSA for a Lifetime!

BFSA Lifetime Membership is open to ALL faculty and ALL staff, ALL affiliates (full or part-time) employed at Johns Hopkins or at Hopkins affiliations, and anyone who identifies with our mission, regardless of religion, age, race or color, marital status, national origin, disability, gender or sexual orientation.

Lifetime membership:

  • Is not required but is a donation to the organization.
  • Lifetime members receive a special gift for becoming a lifetime member
  • Supports the ongoing work, priorities, mission, programs, events, and mission of the BFSA
  • Lifetime members will receive a special branded lapel to signify your membership as a Lifetime member of the BFSA.
