The General Body, Junior Officers, and Executive Board

-Wait, there's a difference?-

Yes, there is a difference! At jhuTASA, we understand that not everyone has the same amount of time/effort to donate to TASA events. Therefore, we've divided TASA members into three different categories, all based upon the amount of responsibility and time you are willing to spend on planning TASA events, making graphics/flyers, or setting up logistics (depending on which team- cultural, programming, publicity, or membership- you join as a member of the Board if you choose to do so)! Each tier has certain activities that members can/cannot participate in, which we'll get into right now!

-General Body Members-

The largest body of members we have! General body members can go to GBMs, Tour of Taiwan, Night Market, and the JO event in late spring! You can join a family as well! If you choose to do so, you'll be able to attend all general member activities, individual family events, and open events hosted by other families. Being a general body member is pretty low-commitment, but as a result, you're less involved in the decision-making that happens at the Board level. Being a general board member is still a ton of fun though, since we love and care for all of our members equally!

-Junior Officers-

Junior Officers (JOs) are a step up from the General Body, so yay! We appreciate you taking on more responsibility in TASA! JOs are a part of our Board, and as a result, are required to attend weekly Board meetings. They also get to plan their very own JO-run event in the spring! You'll be sorted into one of three committees- programming/cultural, publicity, or membership- and have responsibilities to those committees as well. Starting this year, we will be accepting a limited number of students as Junior Officers due to the sheer volume of interested participants. There will be an interview process for those who are interested!

-Executive Board Members-

The current E-board consists of two co-presidents, a secretary, a treasurer, two cultural/programming chairs, two membership chairs, two publicity chairs, two historians, the ITASA representative, the IAC (Inter-Asian Council) representative, and our senior advisors. Members of the E-board are involved in planning and executing all the major events that TASA hosts, and are the points of contact for any outside questions or concerns. If you're a member of the E-board, you'll be required to complete all of tasks (except the JO event) and go to all of the events that JOs can, but you'll also be required to attend bi-weekly E-board meetings!
