-Who are we?-

The Taiwanese American Students Association at Johns Hopkins University is committed to bringing a bit of Taiwan to our campus and the greater Baltimore community. Through cultural events, club bonding, activities, and a family system, jhuTASA seeks to provide members with a sense of cultural identity as our family comes together to promote and share Taiwanese culture with the general public.

jhuTASA hosts many events during the academic year. Our largest events are Tour of Taiwan and Night Market, where we provide homemade dishes native to Taiwan, games, performances, and prizes. Other events include arts and crafts sessions, dessert night, Breakfast With TASA, bread fundraisers, and more! We also go on Very Cool and fun outings together throughout the year, including our annual trip to Rockville.

-Meet our mascot!-

Isn't he adorable? Of course he is! Meet Tubs, the official mascot of jhuTASA! Tubs is a Taiwanese black bear, known for their unique v-shaped markings on the fur over their chest area. Tubs was brought into creation in 2019 by our very own Stephen Li, our recently graduated historian! You'll be seeing a lot of him on our social media posts and flyers, so look forward to that! We know we will!

Interested in getting more involved? Apply to be a Junior Officer (JO)!

If you're really committed to bringing more Taiwanese culture to campus and beyond, consider applying to become a Junior Officer (JO)! JOs are different from general body members in that you will be more involved in planning our major events (like Night Market and Tour of Taiwan), you will have a say in the decisions that E-board makes throughout the semester at board meetings, and you will work with your fellow JOs to create and host a completely JO-planned and run TASA event! If you're already excited, so are we!

Our application is currently closed for this academic year, but it will reopen next fall!

Also, be sure to come to jhuTASA's first GBM (General Body Meeting) of the Fall 2021 semester on September 15, 2021 @9:00 pm EST! See the "News" page for more information!

Events & Activities

Help plan/staff our major events and come on fun trips (ECC and Rockville)! You'll get to eat a ton of great food!

Family System

Want to get to know your fellow TASA members better? Join a family, find a big/little, and meet lots of new people!

Fundraising

Help us out by raising money through a bunch of fun fundraisers to promote Taiwanese culture (we sell Asian breads, boba, and more)!
