Saana Kataria

Founder & President

Saana Kataria is the President and Founder of the Johns Hopkins Oral Health Society (JHOHS), an organization inspired by her vision to integrate oral health into public health and address oral health disparities through collaboration and advocacy. With a background as a dentist and a passion for advancing health equity, Saana created JHOHS as a platform to bring together students, faculty, and professionals to tackle critical oral health challenges and promote innovative solutions.

In addition to leading JHOHS, Saana serves in several impactful leadership roles. She is the Communications Chair for the APHA Student Assembly, the largest student-led public health organization in the nation, where she works to amplify the voices of emerging public health leaders. She also serves as the Student Subcommittee Chair for the Diversity Leadership Council at Johns Hopkins University, advocating for equity and inclusion across the institution. At the Bloomberg School of Public Health, she is the Co-Director of Professional Networking for the JB Grant Society and the Vice President of Intercampus Affairs on the Student Assembly Executive Board, where she strengthens collaboration across schools and campuses. Saana’s dedication to oral health and public health reflects her commitment to creating impactful change for underserved communities.

Nabilah K. Wardhani

Vice-President

Nabilah K. Wardhani, DDS is a dentist and public health advocate dedicated to advancing health literacy and communication, particularly for children. With a strong foundation in clinical experience as a dentist, she is passionate about integrating public health strategies to improve clinical care, extending beyond the dental field.

Currently, she is pursuing an MSPH in Health Education and Health Communication at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is involved in research related to health communication strategies that influence health behavior. Outside of her academic work, she is remotely self-employed, managing a Child Health NGO in Indonesia that has been established since 2021.

Paravreet Woodwal

Treasurer

Paravreet Woodwal, DDS, MPH is a dedicated endodontic surgeon who blends extensive clinical expertise with a passion for public health research. After earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Christian Medical College & Hospital in Ludhiana, she pursued her Residency in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at Himachal Pradesh Government Dental College & Hospital, where she underwent three years of rigorous postgraduate training.

Currently an MPH candidate at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a focus on Epidemiology and Biostatistics, she is committed to transforming data-driven insights into practical healthcare solutions. Her work centers on bridging the gap between research and real-world implementation, ensuring that evidence-based practices lead to tangible improvements in patient care and public health policy. With her unique expertise spanning both clinical dentistry and public health, she remains steadfast in her goal to enhance access, equity, and quality in healthcare for all.

Aishwarya Vishwanath

Secretary

Aishwarya Vishwanath is currently in the MPH program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is focusing on health systems and policy during the course of her graduate studies and was trained as a dentist in India prior to this. Treating patients in dental school piqued her interest in public health generally and in global health, health systems strengthening, and healthcare management specifically.

Last year, Aishwarya completed the Ascend: Leadership Development for the Future of Tobacco Control program - a funded training program by the Institute for Global Tobacco Control at the Bloomberg School - that develops the skills of participants in low- and middle-income countries with the largest burden of tobacco-caused death and disease. Additionally, Aishwarya recently worked with PATH's Family Health team in India on the Saksham project- a public health program that scaled up high-impact interventions to improve maternal, newborn, and child health in the three Indian states of Assam, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. As a result of these experiences, Aishwarya is interested in oral health, tobacco control, maternal and child health, and health communication.

Lakshmi Moorthy

Policy & Advocacy Chair

Dr. Lakshmi is a Pediatric and Preventive Dentist from Mumbai, India, with extensive experience working with children with special needs. Her research has significantly contributed to understanding the oral health status of these children. Her expertise extends into public health, where she has collaborated with numerous NGOs in Mumbai to improve healthcare access and promote preventive therapies.

Currently, Lakshmi is furthering her impact as an MPH (Health Policy) student and is working as a health policy intern at the O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law in Washington D.C. to advance reproductive justice and HIV policies in the United States. A strong advocate for preventive care, she is committed to bridging gaps in healthcare access and ensuring a healthier future for all.

Deeksha Tomar

Outreach and Membership Co-Chair

Deeksha Tomar, BDS, MPH is a passionate public health advocate with a strong foundation in clinical dentistry and global health research. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from India and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

With five years of clinical experience in charitable establishments, Deeksha is dedicated to improving healthcare access and policy, particularly in underserved communities. As the Outreach and Membership Co-Chair of the Johns Hopkins Oral Health Society, she aims to foster engagement, build collaborations, and promote awareness of oral health’s critical role in overall well-being. Her commitment lies in bridging research, advocacy, and practice to advance equitable healthcare solutions.

Hassan Alramadan

Outreach and Membership Co-Chair

Hassan Alramadan is a dentist with a strong foundation in clinical dentistry and a commitment to advancing oral health through research and public health integration. His work focuses on exploring innovative methodologies to enhance treatment effectiveness, optimize patient outcomes, and improve healthcare delivery. With a particular interest in evidence-based practice, he examines how emerging technologies and data-driven strategies can refine clinical decision-making and shape the future of oral healthcare.

Currently, Hassan Alramadan is pursuing his Master of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he is actively involved in research on oral health outcomes, particularly in orthodontics. His studies investigate the application of advanced clinical interventions to improve treatment precision, sustainability, and accessibility. Through his work, he is dedicated to translating research into practical solutions, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and driving policy advancements that contribute to more equitable and effective dental public health systems.

Caroline Nguyen

Education & Research Chair

Caroline Nguyen is pursuing their MPH with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. They conduct research that is grounded in the principles of community-based participatory research, and they are passionate about translating science into policy that will have a real and equitable impact on population health.

Prior to studying at BSPH, Caroline was a Project Policy Analyst at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, where they collected and analyzed data to improve nutrition and physical education for elementary school children in Oakland, California. After obtaining their MPH, they will continue to conduct research focused on improving adolescent health.

Mohammed Alkoudemi

Event Co-Chair

Mohammed Alkoudemi is a dentist and MPH candidate at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, dedicated to bridging clinical dentistry with public health initiatives. With a passion for research and innovation in orthodontics, digital dentistry, and health equity, he is committed to advancing oral healthcare through evidence-based solutions.

He has been engaged in research exploring advancements in these fields and continues to contribute to the development of oral health practices. With a clinical background and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, he strives to enhance the integration of research and practice to improve patient care and health outcomes.

Ayushi Gupta

Event Co-Chair

Ayushi Gupta, MPH, is a public health professional and Dental Surgeon with 6+ years of experience engineering impactful solutions within healthcare. Currently pursuing her MPH at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, she is a catalyst for change, bridging her clinical expertise with a passion for creating scalable transformation in population health. Her background is a dynamic blend of clinical leadership, innovative problem-solving, and a deep-rooted commitment to health equity.

As a Lead Dentist, she not only managed daily clinic operations and mentored staff, but also expanded patient access by spearheading strategic outreach and integrating digital health tools like telehealth. Ayushi also modernized operations by launching an EHR system and forging key partnerships with insurance providers. This rich experience, coupled with her advanced public health training, positions her to tackle complex health challenges with vision and efficacy. She is driven to leverage her clinical insights, analytical prowess, and a solutions-oriented mindset to engineer meaningful improvements in population health, with a focus on uplifting underserved communities.
