3/30/22 Battle of the Brains Co-presidents Carol Lu and Stella Li represent the Cognitive Science Department at the first recruitment and tabling event for underclassmen interested in the brain science majors of Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behavioral Biology.

3/08/22 Networking 101 Project Chair Brody Silva leads an introduction to navigating academia as a student, researcher, and professional. We discussed ways to build an online presence, explored future events/conferences where students can make connections, and practiced an "elevator pitch" introduction to make communication accessible.

11/2/21 Spring Course Review Our semesterly 'Cookies and Courses' event; experienced cognitive science majors discussed the options for the upcoming semester and offered feedback on how to build a schedule

10/19/21 Focal Area 'Speed Dating' It can be hard to find out what you're passionate about. At this meeting, underclassmen got to meet with and learn from board members are they represent the five focal areas of the Cognitive Science major at Hopkins: Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience, Linguistics, Philosophy of Mind, and Computational Approaches to Cognition

10/5/21 Fall Research Panel Research can often feel inaccessible or nerve-wracking to those new to it. Even after you find research, there can be many unforeseen challenges and learning experiences. To share their thoughts, we paneled senior undergraduates Evelyn Zhang, Aditya Yedetore, Brody Silva, and Elizabeth Im. Here, we asked questions such as:

  • What do you study?
  • How did you find your research?
  • What relationship do you have with your head professor or PI?
  • What is your daily work like?
  • What challenges and realizations have you experienced?
