The Black Heritage Committee warmly invites JHU faculty, staff, and students to an unforgettable evening of culture, community, and creativity at this year’s Black Heritage Celebration.
This year’s theme, “Threads of Identity: The Legacy of Black Art & Culture,” highlights the powerful connections between heritage, storytelling, and expression as they shape Black identity and legacy.

A captivating performance art demonstration by Christopher “Kolpeace” Johnson
Live performances from student groups, Dunbar Baldwin Hughes Theater Company and Bluejays and Poets, celebrating the rich diversity of Black culture
A curated exhibit featuring works by local Black artists
A culinary journey through flavors of the diaspora with catered dishes
📢 All donations from the event will support the Black Heritage Committee Student Scholarships. Scholarship recipients will be honored during the program.

Ready, set, slide! Grab a tube and race down the snowy slopes for a thrilling ride. Whether you're sliding solo or racing your friends, snow tubing is the perfect way to embrace the winter chill with tons of laughs and adrenaline-filled moments. Transportation to the site and back will be provided for up to 55 students! Dress warmly!
Ice skating is also included, though you must pay $5 for stake rentals. You will also be given a $10 pre-paid card to use at the arcade!
