Future Fest is a series of events that is aimed at helping you get curious, imagine possible lives, experience more, and craft your story so that you feel more confident designing a fulfilling life. Future Fest will have opportunities spread across 2 weeks, September 6-20 that will help you learn about different career paths, and build connections with alumni, employers, and other students. We will kick off the last week with our virtual fair on September 16th and end the week on September 20th with our in person career fair! After last year saw record number of student attendees, the in person career fair is BACK and bigger than ever. This year will will feature 100+ employers and 10+ alumni representing the highly sought after companies! Register today and check out who is coming.

Prepare for the Fair is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the skills and confidence needed to succeed at in-person career fairs through updating their resume, networking practice and tips for navigating the fair. Through this initiative, students gain valuable insights into various career pathways, broadening their perspectives and enhancing their understanding of potential professional opportunities. The program focuses on building students’ confidence in their abilities, including researching opportunities and effectively telling their own stories. By actively utilizing provided resources and participating in preparation events, students are thoroughly prepared to engage with employers and make the most of career fair opportunities.

Don’t miss the NPSS Networking Mixer, an exciting opportunity to connect with Baltimore Community Service Partners. This informal, round-table event is designed to foster meaningful conversations between students and community organizations. Over the course of two hours, students can drop by at their convenience to engage with representatives from various organizations, learn about their impactful work, and explore potential opportunities. While the mixer is open to all students, it specifically targets federal work-study students interested in community service roles. With up to three representatives from each organization and plenty of promotional materials available, this is the perfect setting for students to discover how they can contribute to the community. Heavy appetizers will be served throughout the event. Don’t miss this chance to network, learn, and make a difference!

This is a great opportunity for students to chat with 6-8 Biotech employers to provide low stakes employer engagements for students. Students will be able to identify the differences between small, medium and large companies in the biotech industries while building confidence in conversations with employers in how they show their work.

To provide comprehensive information about pursuing a Public Health Graduate Degree in the United States, with a focus on the top 4 public health institutions including Johns Hopkins University, covering program options, application processes, career prospects, and networking opportunities.

Explore the excellence through triumph and fulfillment of leaders in the workforce. Latina leaders share their stories of how they have come to a space of fulfillment in their work at various times in their life journey from working through language, gender, and oppression experiences to continue to live their best life through it all. We hope participants leave encouraged to thrive in the workforce through tangible skills self-advocacy ensuring fulfilment in work spaces.

The objective of this event is to inspire and provide tangible strategies to help women excel in leadership roles and combat imposter syndrome particularly in male-dominated fields. The event will be a dynamic and interactive event featuring a keynote speaker who is a visionary leader, strategic thinker with extensive experience in engineering management, consulting, and the federal government and is passionate about empowering organizations to achieve excellence through leadership development.

Receive guidance from three alumni in different places in their medical careers. Hear their stories, the opportunities they took, those they considered, and those they are still exploring. Come ready to ask the questions that will inform your path to medicine. Food provided.

Can they really ask me that? Join this session led by legal experts from Free State Justice on employment rights for the LGBTQ+ community. Discover best practices for navigating job applications, interviews, and the workplace as a Trans or LGBTQ individual. You’ll gain insights into legal frameworks, learn strategies for fostering inclusive workplaces, and explore the intersectionality of identities. Walk away with knowledge, tools and resources to launch your career with pride! All are welcome.

Unlock the power of concise and compelling storytelling at Story Slam! Whether you’re an aspiring storyteller or just love a good tale, join us for an evening filled with creativity, passion, and unforgettable narratives.
**Laptops/tablets are required to participate!** Food will be provided!
You will be matched with a coach to assist with the story-making process, followed by an Open Mic hour where you will have the opportunity to share your story. Whether you’re presenting or simply soaking in the stories, Story Slam promises to ignite your imagination, broaden your horizons, and leave you buzzing with inspiration. VIRTUAL STEM CAREER FAIR – SEPT. 16 FROM 1-4PM EDT
The Virtual Career fair is often overlooked by students. This year, we are prioritizing STEM Employers and looking to bring big name employers and alumni who can share more about their organization, recruiting timelines, and how to standout in the application process. Be sure to register for the Virtual STEM Fair if you want to avoid long lines and build authentic connections with employers.
Virtual Career (hosted on Handshake): September 16 from 1pm – 4pm EST
The virtual career fair will be your best chance to meet with recruiters and alumni for 10 minute 1:1 conversations. You will be able to schedule your meetings so skip the lines and know ahead of time how to prepare for who you will be connected with. Usually an afterthought, the Future Fest Virtual Fair is one you do not want to miss! All conversations will be accessed through HANDSHAKE.

This experience is designed to help students with international perspectives (SIPs) including study abroad students and international students learn how to leverage the skills they gained and experiences they had while studying abroad and/or living abroad.
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
While this event is intended to serve as an introduction to the 2024-2025 YTTI Program, it will also serve as an employer panel event where recruiters from a variety of industries share what they are most looking for in candidates in the internship hiring processes. The program will also address industry specific timelines around internships, as well as the nuances of applying to an internship, rather than a full-time role.
Lastly, the program will serve as marketing for the YTTI program and a kick off to the application process.

On this day trip to our nation’s capital, JHU Homewood students will be introduced to academic resources, including Hopkins Semester in DC, professional connections, and a cultural experience. This unique trek offers networking with students, staff, and professionals; informative presentations; and a visit to National Museum of African American History & Culture. The goal is to offer insights for your academic and career pathways while facilitating meaningful engagement, building connections to explore Hopkins beyond Homewood.

Come learn about the unique intricacies about these programs, hear directly from employers and former interns about the impact of the experiences, and understand how to obtain an impactful summer opportunity.

This program would be for identity-based student organization members (particularly black students) and alumni from not only Hopkins, but those student organizations. Additionally, we would invite SOBA (society of black alumni). The event would start with casual networking and a panel-style "Ask Me Anything" so students can hear alumni insights, followed by mock interviews led by alumni asking students the questions

Pre-Health 201 is a workshop geared toward JHU pre-health upper-class (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) students and aims to prepare them to be successful pre-health applicants. We will revisit topics from pre-health 101 and go more in-depth about the timeline and the how's of preparing your pre-health portfolio. Food provided.

This interactive workshop is designed to help international students at Hopkins identify strategies for discussing visa status, CPT/OPT, work authorization eligibility, etc. to (potential) employers with confidence and clarity. This workshop will provide you with useful tips and tricks, an opportunity to practice your new skills, and get ready to tell your story at the Future Fest Career Fair!

Future Fest Chronicles: Unveiling FLI Students’ Journeys highlights FLI students’ achievements in research, study abroad experiences, internships, conference attendance, and other experiential learning opportunities. Students will showcase their accomplishments through interactive presentations where attendees will gain valuable information and practical advice on securing high-impact opportunities.

Join the Life Design Lab for a one-hour interactive workshop that will overview best practices on how to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) programs like ChatGPT, VMock, etc. in your career readiness and life design processes. Whether you’re exploring what you can do with your major, identifying organizations for jobs & internships, writing an introductory message to someone on LinkedIn or OneHop, or fine-tuning your resume and cover letter, this session will provide you with the opportunity to practice ways that AI can serve as a tool to help initiate and maximize your personal and professional journeys at Hopkins and beyond!
