The Social Epidemiology Student Organization (SESO) aims to broaden the scope of epidemiology beyond a biomedical individualistic focus by facilitating students' understanding of social conditions as determinants of health at the population level. SESO is a multidisciplinary forum for the dissemination of theory, methods, and findings related to macro-level factors influencing health that brings students, faculty, and staff from across the school and related health institutions to discuss innovative social epidemiologic theory and methods. It is our objective to translate this knowledge into research that can serve as the evidence base for policies addressing social disparities in health.

Our mission is twofold: to equip students, faculty, and members of the wider community with life-saving techniques to stop bleeding in critical situations, and to raise awareness about the importance of immediate action in reducing morbidity and mortality from traumatic injuries.

Through hands-on training sessions, interactive workshops, and educational outreach events, STB-BSPH provides comprehensive instruction on hemorrhage control techniques endorsed by the American College of Surgeons.

Participants will learn how to quickly assess and manage life-threatening bleeding using basic medical supplies and improvised materials, as well as gain confidence in their ability to act decisively during emergencies.
