The purpose of Beta Mu Delta Society is to construct and maintain a space in which Black
Pre-meds can uplift each other and build community, improve scholastic achievement, advocate
for the needs of Black students, and serve the greater Black community through meaningful
service, activities, and events.

Members receive guidance and support by joining this Black, pre-med community, benefit from having a safe space in which they can explore and gain a deeper understanding of different health professional paths, may gain specified advising, will get to take advantage of the programming BMD puts in place for this specific student population, and receive and benefit from the many monetary and educational resources provided by the JUMP program.

Charm City Science League (CCSL) empowers Baltimore middle and high school students to pursue STEM education beyond lessons taught in the classroom. We engage students in active learning and scientific inquiry through Science Olympiad, a national STEM competition for grades 5-12. Using a unique combination of intensive one-on-one mentoring, academic competition participation, resource support, and greater community involvement, we inspire young students to explore their passions in science and support their academic growth.

As one of the largest student organizations within the Center for Social Concern (over 100 members!), Charm City Science League offers a whole host of opportunities to help serve our network of 20+ Baltimore City Schools. We primarily send groups of ~4 mentors to each of our schools in weekly sessions in both the fall and spring semesters, where mentors help the school's Science Olympiad teams prepare for the Regionals and States competitions in March. Additionally, members help put together kits, write online curriculum, volunteer at workshops throughout the year, and run Johns Hopkins very own Science Olympiad Invitational. Those who want to get even more involved can become head mentors, or join our Executive Board.

Our mission is to provide graduate students pursuing a PhD degree in psychology with any support and guidance they might need through their time at JHU. The GSC is focused on bringing psychology students together through events like colloquium, community outreach and holiday gatherings. Additionally, we hope to form a community of like-minded students who help and support each other through events like Brain Awareness Week so as to allow students to access all the resources the campus has to offer.

Hopkins Community Connection collaborates with communities to challenge systemic barriers to health equity by training a diverse workforce of individuals who champion a more just system through an innovative and patient-centered approach to addressing social determinants of health in the healthcare setting.

Hopkins Community Connection is a student organization designed to address essential needs of patients through universal social needs screenings and navigation to community resources and benefit programs. Our organization partners with JHMI and staffs Family Resource Desks at the Harriet Lane Clinic, Comprehensive Care Practice, Bayview Children's Medical Practice, Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center, and the East Baltimore Medical Center to address the social determinants of health. Student advocates assist Baltimore families to access essential resources such as food, housing, heat and electricity in order to be healthy. Volunteer advocates then follow up with their clients, on a weekly basis, to ensure they get the appropriate resources to address their needs. By learning about the health care system, addressing psychosocial needs, and making lasting bonds with Baltimore families, HCC volunteers will become the nation's next great health care leaders.

The Multicultural Leadership Council (MLC) is a consortium of culturally based undergraduate student organizations (approximately 40) at Johns Hopkins University, under the Office of Multicultural Affairs. SEED: Students Educating and Empowering for Diversity is a group of undergraduate students trained to enhance campus climate through programs which promote living, functioning and navigating effectively in diverse and inclusive communities. SEED utilizes a variety of programmatic structures to achieve the goal of educating and empowering participants around issues of cultural knowledge and responsibility.

SEED consists of undergraduate students representing diverse backgrounds with regard to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic, religion/faith, political ideology and other identities.

SEED Educator: Lead
There are 6 paid SEED Lead Educator positions. SEED Lead Educators serve as identity specialists for race and ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion and spirituality, and ability. Each SEED Lead Educator supports and collaborates with identity spaces on campus such as the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Women and Gender Resources, LGBTQ Life, Religious and Spiritual Life, International Students @ Hopkins, and Student Disability Services. Previous experience with facilitation and/or diversity education is required.

SEED Educator: Co-Facilitator
There are 12 unpaid SEED Co-facilitators positions. SEED Co-facilitators support the SEED team through workshop or training development, campus recruitment, and facilitation. NO previous experience with facilitation and/or diversity education is required.
