About ARC

The Allocations and Recognition Commission at the Center for Social Concern

Works to increase student input and enhance transparency in the student-led civic engagement recognition and funding processes.

Commissioners are responsible for (1) supporting and advising 5-7 CSC affiliated student groups, (2) allocating semesterly and grant funding to CSC affiliated student groups (3) and facilitating productive and ethical practice for service.

ARC is made up of six undergraduate students fulfilling the following roles

Chair

  • Staff Liaison and Primary Point of Contact
  • Prepare for and lead ARC meetings
  • Support CSC Staff in decision-making that impacts CSC student groups

Vice Chair

  • Lead recruitment and training for ARC Commissioners
  • Ensure ARC members have met expectations as outlined
  • Provide administrative support

Treasurer

  • Tracking Grant Funding in coordination with the CSC Budget Analyst
  • Lead Allocations and Recognition Process
  • Support Grant Specialists with Grant Process

Secretary

  • Tracking attendance and taking meeting notes
  • Preparing materials for ARC meetings
  • Creating email templates and communication timelines

Grant Specialists (2)

  • Prepare supplemental grant materials for review
  • Summarize reviews and lead discussions on grant applications
  • Provide guidance for groups in the application process through HopkinsGroups

While we encourage you to meet with your assigned ARC Commissioner (listed below), you can meet with any Commissioner whose schedule works for you!
