Risk Management

The Center for Social Concern (CSC) supports student organizations categorized under the CSC with executing risk management needs that include; Child Safety Training & Verification, Background Checks Submissions, Criminal Screenings, etc.

CSC Student Organizations' executive leaders and volunteers working with minors must adhere to JHUs Safety of Children in University Programs Policy.

To ensure compliance with background check and fingerprinting requirements, we will be regularly requesting a roster of your volunteers.

It is crucial that Center for Social Concern verifies that all students (leaders and volunteers) participating in community service with minors or in clinical settings have undergone proper background checks and received the required training.

We want to emphasize that this request is not intended to overstep or interfere with the operation of your organization. Our goal is purely to ensure that everyone who needs training and background checks can receive them in time to volunteer.

If new volunteers join your group after the initial submission, no worries! You can simply update your advisor with additional names as new students join the team.
