Risk Management

The Center for Social Concern supports student organizations categorized under the CSC with executing risk management needs that include; Child Safety Training & Verification, Background Checks Submissions, Criminal Screenings, etc.

Center for Social Concern (CSC) Programs and Student Organizations working with minors must adhere to JHUs Safety of Children in University Programs Policy.

All CSC students actively working with minors must complete the university's child safety training, and criminal screening annually.

Fall 2024 Update

To ensure compliance with background check and fingerprinting requirements, we will be requesting a roster of your volunteers at the beginning of each semester.

Please submit a list of expected volunteers to your advisor by Monday, September 23.

This process is crucial for the Center for Social Concern to verify that all students participating in community service with minors or in clinical settings have undergone proper background checks and received the required training.

We want to emphasize that this request is not intended to overstep or interfere with the operation of your organization. Our goal is purely to ensure that everyone who needs training and background checks can receive them in time to volunteer.

If new volunteers join your group after the initial submission, no worries! You can simply update your advisor with additional names as new students join the team.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Markya Reed at mreed53@jh.edu
