Description

The JUMP Undergraduate Internship is an opportunity for a current undergraduate JUMP member to develop professional skills while supporting the JUMP Program and build connections within the Center for Student Success,  Life Design Lab, and a host of other campus partners. The Undergraduate Intern is an essential member of the JUMP support team and all insight, feedback, ideas, creativity, support, etc. are valued.

The primary responsibility for the JUMP intern is to assist with completing administrative tasks that support the overall functioning of the JUMP program.

Specific responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

Customer Service

● Engage pleasantly with JUMP members and constituents via email, in-person, and virtually

● Be resourceful in efforts to troubleshoot issues and suggest campus resources as needed

● Greet visitors to the Center for Student Success and welcome event attendees

Public Speaking

● Provide support (as host or assistant) to JUMP programs, workshops, and activities. This may include hosting events, introducing speakers, moderating panels, etc.

● Represent JUMP at panels, conferences, recruitment events, etc.

● Outreach to JUMP constituents or third parties in ways that align with JUMP’s mission

Marketing/Promotions

● Use Canva (preferred), Microsoft, or other software to create flyers and other promotional materials for the JUMP program and/or events

● Use software to assist with the creation and development of the JUMP newsletter

● Use of video editing software to create and/or edit promotional videos

Social Media

● Build and maintain JUMP’s social media presence

● Reviewing and editing JUMP’s internal website

Administration

● Assist with planning JUMP events and activities

● Provide essential support to JUMP programs through assessment, tracking, evaluation, etc.

Pay Rate

● $15 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

● Full-time student; JHU undergraduate; current JUMP member

● Must be in good academic standing.

● Must be available to work in-person/hybrid work schedule

Preferred Qualifications

● Preference for applicants interested in continuing beyond the 2025-2026 academic year

● Commitment to work approximately 10 hours per week

● Be technologically savvy with proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and SharePoint, and Canva

● Strong organizational skills

● Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail

● Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with a wide range of constituents, particularly in the pre-health space

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team on short term and long term projects

● Federal Work-study eligibility
