Early Assurance Programs (EAPs) give current undergraduate students the opportunity to apply and secure their spot in medical school before completing their undergraduate degree.
Generally, students apply to medical school after their third or fourth year of undergrad. However, with certain EAPs, students can apply as early as after the second year of college. EAPs can thus alleviate some of the stress of applying to medical school. Such programs are ideal for ambitious students who are sure of their pathway in medicine.
Requirements vary, but most medical schools require prerequisite courses, a 3.5 GPA minimum, and a clear commitment to medicine.
For some EAPs, the MCAT is NOT required (though there are exceptions). This allows students to invest time into other areas of the premed journey.
Applying to an EAP gives you firsthand experience into the medical school application process. In the event that you aren't accepted via an EAP, you can still apply via the traditional route.

The FlexMed program offers early assurance to college sophomores.
