The African Students Association (ASA) of Johns Hopkins University comprises a group of students of African and non-African descent dedicated to the education of the Hopkins community at large of the different cultures that comprise the African continent. ASA also provides a network of support for African students at Johns Hopkins and serves as a source of information for any member of the Johns Hopkins University community interested in learning about Africa. The African Students Association is a service as well as social organization which aims to rid misconceptions concerning Africa through education.

The American Mock World Health Organization chapter at Johns Hopkins University leads annual simulation conferences where delegates are invited to assume the roles of global leaders in addressing todayÔÇÖs most pertinent global health issues. We provide opportunities for students to develop leadership abilities, sharpen public speaking skills, understand real-world policy applications through the lens of their respective roles. The chapter also recruits for and attends the National AMWHO conference as a delegation.

AMWHO is modeled after the Ontario and Montreal World Health Organization conferences set in Canada, and the primary focus of all three is to raise student awareness of pertinent health issues facing the world today, as well as to promote understanding of the many roles students can engage in through global health policy. The conference hopes to establish an environment similar to that of the World Health OrganizationÔÇÖs Assembly, and educate future global health leaders in the proceedings of international health entities. Furthermore, AMWHO aims to nurture an interest in global health and health policy that is often neglected in a standard health education curriculum. Students will receive the opportunity to sharpen their diplomacy skills, as well as increase their ability to engage in problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

The Catholic Community at Hopkins is a vibrant community of faith that hosts several weekly and monthly events. Weekend and daily Masses are held at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church and University Parish at 2801 N. Charles St., across the street from the south side of campus. Our main gathering space is the student Newman Center adjacent to the church, a welcoming space for students filled with comfortable couches, a flat-screen TV, a pool table, and a fully stocked kitchen, courtesy of our chaplains. The Newman Center is always open to students for studying or relaxing.

This year we are planning on expanding our offerings in accessing the sacraments, fellowship, and spiritual formation, including:
- Family Dinners after the 5pm Sunday Mass
- Newman Night social nights and discussions after Eucharistic Adoration at 7pm on Wednesday nights at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church
- Peer-led small group Bible studies
- Monthly community service opportunities
- Multiple retreats
- Special events such as: Trivia Nights, Advent Party, and more!

The Catholic Community welcomes all, both undergraduate and graduate students, and hopes that you will find a new faith-filled home at Johns Hopkins. Founded in France in 1971, Doctors without Borders (also known by their French name Medecins Sans Frontieres) is a humanitarian organization operating on the belief that all people should have access to healthcare regardless of race, gender, religion, or political affiliation. MSF provides healthcare in response to disasters both natural and human-made. Outside of providing quality healthcare where it is desperately needed, MSF also frequently draws public and international attention to forgotten crises.

Friends of MSF at JHU is a student chapter of Doctors Without Borders USA. Our goals are:

Global Medical Brigades is a program of Global Brigades, Inc., the worldÔÇÖs largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. By utilizing our unique holistic model, we mobilize student volunteers and professionals to empower under-resourced communities in developing countries via secular programs that improve communities' quality of life while respecting local culture and supporting an eventual transition to self-sustainability. Global Medical Brigades does not support paternalism or voluntourism.

Members will be able to travel on annual medical brigades to Panama to conduct mobile clinics and health workshops in communities that typically lack doctors in a twenty-mile radius. During this time, they will have the opportunity to shadow physicians and assist with in-take, triage, medication packing, and health education while interacting with community members (50 contact hours). Members will also be able to help organize on-campus speaker sessions that raise awareness about global health inequities and international perspectives on medical issues and sustainable health.

Please note that it is not necessary to be fluent in Spanish to participate in a brigade. We will have translators available with us at all times, and we will also teach members useful Medical Spanish phrases prior to the brigade.

Inter-Asian Council (IAC) is the umbrella organization for Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) clubs on campus and serves as a medium for APIDA groups at Hopkins to collaborate and to work together towards shared goals and causes. Past events have involved showcases/campaigns that promote discussion of APIDA identity and challenges facing the APIDA community, collaborations with other groups (such as the Black Student Union) to build solidarity both within the pan-Asian and greater Hopkins communities, performances featuring prominent pan-Asian entertainers, and pan-Asian cultural events.

Members of IAC are expected to meet on a weekly basis (on Mondays) to discuss future events and collaboration with other organizations. Members in IAC also have complete freedom to express their interest in any APIDA related event/topic and are highly encouraged to start their own project/initiative with support from the rest of the board. There are ample opportunities for all members of IAC to gain leadership experience through event programming and outreach with other multicultural organizations on campus. Within IAC, members are encouraged to network through organized socials, coffee dates, and outings.

The mission of the Operation Smile chapter at JHU will align closely with the national organization's goals of advocating for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate through the means of raising awareness and funds. We recognize that children born with such conditions often face a lower quality of life due to feeding issues, speech problems, self confidence struggles, among others. Additionally, the majority of the children that Operation Smile seeks to aid come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. As a result, cleft palate treatment/surgery is something that is essential but is often not possible for these kids. We hope to be able to raise money for this cause while also spreading and increasing awareness about cleft lip and palate as a condition through service.

The first purpose of Voice for Life is to defend the inviolable right to life of every innocent human being. Our members seek to foster a culture of life at Johns Hopkins University and in the surrounding community. We also advocate for the right to life of the unborn through respectful and productive dialogues. The other essential purpose of Voice for Life is to support pregnant and parenting students by connecting them with resources that can help them achieve both short-term and long-term success. We also promote awareness of these resources within the university to inform the community of their benefits.

Wing Chun at Johns Hopkins University (also known as Wing Chun @ JHU, hereinafter referred to as WC@JHU) is a Johns Hopkins University student organization that is dedicated to the teaching of members of the JHU community self-defense through the Wing Chun Kung Fu (hereinafter referred to as Wing Chun) system. To this end, WC@JHU will hold several weekly practices on and off campus taught by the instructors.
WC@JHU will also be secondarily dedicated to spreading awareness and interest for kung fu as a whole. To this end, the club will hold outreach events promoting kung fu and martial arts.

Wings is a nonprofit organization based in Baltimore that aims to improve menstrual hygiene and equity in the city. We provide free menstrual hygiene products to underprivileged members of the community, host educational workshops on menstrual, sexual, and women's health, and offer more sustainable alternatives to single-use menstrual products. In doing so, Wings hopes to break the social shame, stigma, and silence around menstruation to ultimately uplift, enable, and empower those in our communities.

The WomenÔÇÖs Pre-Health Leadership Society (WPHLS) is the first-ever honor society on campus that exclusively recognizes the achievements and accomplishments of young women pursuing the pre-health sciences. Our society consists of female-identifying undergraduate students who have demonstrated academic excellence, commitment to community service, and a passion in pre-health studies. Our mission is to provide a forum for young women to inspire and empower one another, while addressing the current healthcare and professional issues and concerns facing all women, and promoting the next generation of female physicians and scientists. Our group provides a platform for female undergraduates to exchange ideas and experiences, mentor one another, and receive guidance through the medical school preparation process.
