Each coat is embroidered with the student's name and with a graduate student pin affixed, which represents the unity of each of the 16 Johns Hopkins University doctoral programs. With their families, peers and mentors as witnesses, each student recites the graduate student oath, scientists pledge to always maintain integrity and commitment to the scientific community.
This event will recognize the achievements of those PhD students who have successfully completed their Doctoral Board Examinations between August, 2023, and August 15th, 2024, and senior master's students who will be completing their program between Fall 2024-Summer 2025.
You must have passed your DBO exam and satisfied all conditions by 12:00pm on August 9th 2024 to participate in the 2024 Graduate Coating Ceremony,

The survey contains relevant information for event logistics, as well as information about white coats, coat sizing, name spelling and pronunciation, etc. Students who fall into the categories listed to the left but are not able to attend are still eligible to receive a graduate coat and to be recognized during the ceremony. Please proceed with the survey.
